Big Fold Fuzzy Pattern Digital
This is for a digital pattern to make the Big Fold Fuzzy hat. Big Fold Fuzzy features a big foldover brim and a simple, reversible fabric. We have kits (that include the hardcopy pattern) available here in bright neon colors perfect for chasing away the winter blues. Want to work from your stash? See the notes below about yarn weights for substitutions.
To make Big Fold Fuzzy you will need:
One ball of Uni Merino (75% superwash wool, 25% nylon) or approximately 430 yards of fingering weight wool. This yarn is held doubled, and our sample had about 12 grams of yarn leftover. You can substitute a dk-light worsted weight yarn held single.
One ball of either Rowan Kidsilk Haze, Rico Design Kid Mohair Loves Silk, or other mohair silk laceweight yarn. This yarn is held with the fingering weight yarn, and we had a few grams leftover from the 25g ball.
You will also need US 7 needles in both 16" circulars and double-pointed needles, and a stitch marker.
The hat is made holding the Uni Merino doubled AND holding a strand of the mohair - but don't worry, it all holds together nicely. Just work with the inside and outside of the yarn ball - I like to pull out a few yards, hold it together with the mohair, and then wrap the three strands back around the skein to prevent tangling.
